08.04.10 - Emerald Ash Borer Now in Leeds & Grenville:

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has confirmed the presence of Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) in the United Counties of Leeds & Grenville.  The insects were found in a trap near Mallorytown, ON.  Although the EAB is not harmful to humans it is a very destructive beetle which is responsble for the death of millions of ash trees in the northeastern U.S. and western Ontario.  For further information and fact sheets please refer to the Literature/Reports section of this web site.
